Do you know about British Airways? The United Kingdom’s national airline is British Airways. Their headquarter is in London, England. British Airways is the largest out of all the national airlines.

Do you know about British Airways (BA) baggage allowance? If you are thinking about a trip with this airline, then you need to know about its baggage policy. Hand luggage should be 56cm x 45cm and 25cm, and small items should be 40cm x 30cm x 15cm max. Both components should be  23 kg. A checked-in bag might be 90cm x 75cm and 43cm in size, and the weight should be 23 kg or 32 kg.

British Air Baggage Allowances

There are several types of baggage policies according to the ticket types. You guys can bring a fixed amount of baggage to the airport. I will describe all the procedures shortly below.

Carry-on Baggage Allowance

Carry-on bag/Cabin bag/Handbag are the same. Onboard, each passenger can bring one piece of hand luggage and one compact item. Both components are capable of weighing up to 23 kg.

  • The bag size you will bring must be 56cm x 45cm x 25cm max dimensions.
  • For small items like laptops or tabs, baggage size should be 40cm x 30cm x 15cm max.

Checked-in Baggage Allowance

How many baggages you can bring is dependent on your ticket type and destination. On most flights, an economy ticket includes one piece of checked baggage. The luggage should not be more than 90cm x 75cm and 43cm.

Depending on your tickets depending in the economy and business class the luggage weight allowance will be different. I am giving the allowances below

  • 23kg for economy class
  • 32kg for business class

Also, British Airways Premium Economy Baggage Allowance allows you to check two pieces of luggage on all flights. The measurement is the same 90 x 75 x 43cm. From 12 years old can carry two bags.

Extra baggage is allowed with a first-class ticket, but the bag limitations will be the same.

Extra Baggage Allowance

If your checked baggage allowance is exceeded, you will be charged for excess luggage at the airport rate. You can bring up to ten pieces of luggage.

If your flight includes one free checked baggage,   nine more bags can be added, but you’ll have to pay for them. The weight should be between 23 to 32 kg max for each bag.

Children Baggage Allowance

You might look for the baggage policy for your children. Your child will be allowed the same amount of free checked baggage as you, which will vary depending on which cabin you are travelling in.

  • British Airways considers 2-11 years old as children.
  • 2 bags (max. 23kg) plus one fully foldable stroller and one car seat for children (2-11).

Infant baggage allowance

Under two are considered infants. Infants are the most vulnerable (under 2). You can bring

  • 1 carry-on bag (maximum weight: 23kg and up to 56 x 45 x 25cm
  • One fully foldable pushchair, and one car seat
  • Rules for infant baggage will be the same for every class

Allowance for tools and other types of equipment

Tools and sporting items can be checked as extra checked luggage that must be paid for at the airport. The airline may be able to transport more big items weighing up to 45 kg. The measurement is 190cm x 75cm x 65cm in certain circumstances.

Oversized Baggage Policy

For an oversized bag fee, more oversized items up to 190cm x 75cm x 65cm can be carried. At the moment, BA waives this fee, so you won’t have to pay it.

Items that are larger than 190cm x 75cm x 65cm must be shipped separately as cargo.
