Allowed Liquid items in Cabin Baggage:

All forms of liquid items must be carried in a maximum capacity of 100 ml sealed containers. The containers must be sealed in a transparent plastic bag. The capacity of the transparent bag should not exceed one litre.

Passengers can carry baby equipment such as a baby seat, collapsible stroller (within 10 Kg), car seat, playpen, etc free of charge. Passengers with infants (on 10% tickets) can carry a bag maximum dimension of 45 inches (115cm) as cabin baggage without paying any extra fee.

Excess Baggage Fee:

Malaysia Airlines charge excess baggage fees if the baggage exceeds the allowance weight. The free baggage allowance of Malaysia Airlines depends on the route. The excess baggage fees will be charged per kg above the free baggage allowance. For government officers travelling on domestic flights with a Government warrant/order, the excess baggage fees will be 3 USD per kilogram. 

Passengers can save 20 per cent on the excess baggage rates by pre-purchasing extra baggage.

Pre-purchase extra baggage:

Passengers can buy extra baggage 24 hours prior to their flight departure. If passengers purchase extra baggage 20 per cent will be reduced from their total excess baggage fees. Extra baggage can be purchased in the following ways:

  • You can buy extra baggage while booking your ticket online.
  • You can post-book via Manage My Booking
  • You can also buy extra baggage through the call centre and from the  MH Ticket Offices.

But the purchase must be done 24 hours before the flight.
